The pigment used is very different from body tattooing ink and is only deposited on the first layer of skin. The colour is designed to fade over time, hence the term 'semi-permanent'. What is the lip shading ( blushing)   

Lip blushing is a type of semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing procedure achieved by depositing pigments in your lips using small needles. While also sometimes called lip tattooing, this is more of a cosmetic enhancement
